ABOUT HANDKNOTTING
Originating in Tibet, this weaving method
wraps yarn carefully around two warps and a temporary rod. Once the rod is covered with loops, a cut is made to form a pile. Composed of thousands of individual knots, it requires highly skilled artisans
and time, making them
very high quality and long.

ABOUT HAND-TUFTING
Hand-tufted rugs are created with strands of wool punched through the backing using a handheld tufting tool. Once the design is complete, a layer of backing is applied to secure the tufts, and the surface is sheared to reveal a soft, even pile. The pile can be sheared into various heights and patterns, allowing for variations in both feel and design and creating a hardwearing, soft finish.

ABOUT FLATWEAVE
On horizontal looms, artisans pass the weft yarns carefully through the warp, beating them tightly into place to form a strong, flat surface to create a tactile, versatile flatweave.
